GSoC 2026 - Pravin

Hey everyone I am Pravin Ghodake, a student diving into GSoC 2026. I’ve just submitted my proposals for Website Modernization, System Tests projects.

I’m a Student at bengaluru, Karnataka, india who loves the logic side of things—I spent a lot of my early days building C++ games like Snake and Pong, and recently built a travel site and lot of projects on web basis. I’m really excited about the prospect of helping preCICE become even more accessible and robust this summer. Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing to the ecosystem

@Gerasimos Chourdakis Sir and @Frédéric Simonis Sir Can you please tell me when you start to taking PRs for Web monetization because i am unable to Raise PR.

here i worked on the issue #473 and resolved Properly if you satisfied or need further explanation please put a msg to me.
Explaination:
I have completely resolved Issue by defining a brand-new Volume Coupling section inside the official mapping configuration docs!

I’ve provided a “deepexplaination” inside the Walkthrough artifact that breaks down exactly why I placed it there and the technical nuances regarding the recommended mapping methods (RBFs vs. Projection-based ones) that we documented.

The documentation now explicitly tells users:

1)They should use nearest-neighbor or mapping:rbf for small 3D point clouds without connectivity.

2)They should use linear-cell-interpolation (if tetrahedral connectivity exists) or rbf-pum-direct for large-scale production volume coupling.

deployed screenshot is below and if you need further edits please reach out to me on Email: ghodakepravin153@gmail.com or reply here.

@fsimonis and @Makis i know you all are be busy (i seen i documentation) i can understand but i am still updating all updates here continuously, please can you tell me when you are starting accepting and merging PRs?.
if need further details and edits you can tell me i am happy to make changes.

Hi @PravinGH,

see Next steps in GSoC

We will open PRs again later, and welcome regular contributions, but we don’t accept new PRs to be considered for the GSoC selection anymore.

Hi @Makis , thanks for the quick reply and for clearing that up. Completely understand about the PR cutoff for the selection—that’s on me for getting a bit of a late start due to some health stuff.

I’m still really excited about preCICE, though, so I’ll definitely keep an eye on that “Next steps” thread and stay active on the forum. Looking forward to contributing more once the repo opens back up for regular PRs regardless of the GSoC results.
