Hello
Hope you are all well
I was wondering if there was anyone with experience conducting FSI + CHT together using OF and CCX.
I am trying to test the simple perp flap case and am wanting to incorporate CHT into it. I have attached the case here as well. perpendicular-flap.zip (153.0 KB)
I set the case up and used the settings recommended but the case still fails to run. I think I am going wrong somewhere in the setup. For instance, what fluid solver would be best for FSI and CHT both together?
Hello all
Update:
I decided to skip the CHT part of the simulation and added transport equation to pimplefoam for passive scalar transport. This should ideally have nothing to do with the solid side however, regardless of the BC I use on the flap, the scalar still influences the flap motion and deformation significantly.
Does preCICE somehow read the value for phi and psi in a coupled manner maybe, hence transferring a larger force from the fluid to the solid than required?
I think this is similar to what the AIT group was working on at some point. See the abstract from COUPLED2019. See also the abstract of the KIT group from the same conference (related to the thread you linked to). Maybe this gives you some starting points for further research. Maybe you find something in the thesis of Julian Seuffert.
You might need to make your own solver, actually. pimpleFoam does not support temperature, buoyantPimpleFoam does not support moving meshes, as far as I know.
Not explicitly, but maybe this is related to the checkpointing implementation. Did you try with explicit coupling as well?
