ERROR: Requesting a socket connection at 127.0.0.1:

Hi,
I have installed precise v2.1.1 on Ubuntu 20.04.
When I run tutorials, the following error "requestConnectionAsClient: ERROR: Requesting a socket connection at 127.0.0.1:XXXXX failed with the system error: resolve: Host not found (authoritative)
" always appears.
I really want to know what went wrong?

Thanks in advance!
Ray

Is there anything special about your system? Is it a laptop, some cluster, something else?

Maybe you can find something helpful in the documentation: Communication configuration | preCICE - The Coupling Library

By the way, if you can, it would be better to upgrade to the latest preCICE, as we improved the error messages with v2.2.0 (currently we are in v2.4.0).

Hi Makis,
Thanks for your advice. My Ubuntu is running in vmware16.
As per your suggestion, I reinstalled the latest preCICE v2.4.0,and read Communication configuration | preCICE - The Coupling Library . Finally, I found a similar question to mine in preCICE hangs during initialization. I deleted the precice-run folder in the exchange directory of the solvers. It works!
Thanks for the inputs.
