Prescribed Rotation AMI in OpenFOAM and Prescribed Rotation in Calculix

Hello all,

I am looking to do some coupled CFD-FEA using openfoam and calculix of a rotating rotor of a turbine. I am thinking of having the CFD rotor spin at a constant rotation rate with an arbitrary mesh interface zone, while having the same prescribed rotation rate in the Calculix model. I am interested in the structural deformation of the turbine blades. My thought process is that because the CFD and FEA meshes are rigidly moving in unison, the coupling will be fairly simple as the meshes will still always be overlapping.

Is there anything I am missing before starting this project? I understand MRF would be simpler, but we are interested in the dynamic effects.

Is this is as simple as just setting up a normal precice configuration? I have a journal publication in review for breaking waves on offshore structures, so I am fairly confident in precice if any source code modification is needed.

Thank you for your time,

Jacob
