Great that you solved it! I understand that what worked for you in the end was tweaking the Spack environment as stated above ([OpenFOAM] Unable to run SLURM partitioned simulation - #8 by ajaust). If that is the case, could you please mark that as the answer to this thread?
Regarding building the adapter, if the error message is similar to [OpenFOAM-6 adapter] Error during build: undefined symbols of dependencies (which you previously opened), why does the same solution not work again? I have not looked again in depth, but maybe this already helps us understand.
