Does anyone know if preCICE can support mixed steady-transient couplings between physics solvers with disparate time scales, perhaps to run the faster physics in a steady-state mode and the slower physics in a transient one? TIA.
I don’t see any general problem here. The steady-state solver would then need to “trick” preCICE and define some pseudo timestep length – preCICE then thinks that both solvers are transient solvers. But there are probably many details that need thoughtful consideration, e.g. whether to use an explicit or an implicit coupling scheme then.
