Collaborators cant comment anymore on github?

I am assuming this is a gsoc thing (but it affects every contributor i believe).

i was just replying to a comment given by @fsimonis on github and i couldnt comment

Refactor typename getter logic by nots1dd · Pull Request #2498 · precice/precice · GitHub

seems that contributors cant comment for the time being, was just curious why so i put this here

in any case if i could give my rationale to @fsimonis on discourse or by mail, i will gladly do so

I’m having the same issue. @fsimonis, you asked me to make changes to my PR and open a new one but I’m currently blocked by the collaborator restriction on GitHub.

I have the fix ready on my fork and also have another PR for make_shared refactoring ready to go. Should I wait for the repo restrictions to be lifted, or is there another way you’d like me to share these updates?

Hi! Hm, disabling comments was unintended. Try again.

Also I am unable to make a PR, till until what time should we wait for it?

@san-rizz-777 we do not accept any further PRs for GSoC 2026 applications at this point. We have a lot to review already, and several times more potential applications that we could possibly get project slots.

See Next steps in GSoC and focus on writing your proposal.
