Failing to compile the Openfoam adapter at ModuleFF.o

Hi,
I am trying to compile the Openfoam adapter for Precice 3.1.2 . I am using Openfoam v2406 and Intel compiler v2023.2.1. Eveything goes well until it tries to compile the object ModuleFF.o, at that point the building fails with errors that I am not able to understand. I attach the log, is someone able to help me?

Hi,

For the first error the compiler provided a hint to use .cref(). I believe like this:

vectorField n = U_->boundaryField()[patchID].patch().nf().cref(); // or maybe .ref() in this case becase `n` is not `const`

Similarly, you can use .cref() for the other two errors as well.

Thank you @abzrg, editing those lines of the source code in the way you described worked and I was able to complete the installation of the adapter.

In any case, I am puzzled by the fact that we had to apply some changes in the source code of an official release that we just downloaded. Should we bring this to the attention of the developers for a patch?

I’m glad it helped.

I think It’s either a mismatch between the OpenFOAM and adaptor versions or simply a bug. If the former is not the case one can file an issue on the adaptor’s github page.
