I am going to use other interpolation algorithms in the adapter and then pass the interpolated data to precice for acceleration, I don’t know if it is feasible? (i.e. not using precice’s mapping interpolation, but my own)

What are you interpolating inside your adapter? If you are referring to interpolation between meshes of the participants that you are coupling, how are you accessing the meshes in one adapter? Are you using the direct access to received meshes feature?
